Project Overview
University Initiatives & Policy provided project management support for the creation of the Bias Education & Support Team (BEST). BEST was created in response to a need expressed by students to have an avenue to report bias related incidents and receive support.
BEST is a cross-functional group who works to:
- Support a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
- Connect with individuals personally who have been impacted by a bias related incident
- Connect individuals to resources and opportunities for dialogue
- Track behavioral trends and provide summary information to campus leadership and the community in a way that protects privacy and promotes an inclusive and safe campus
Following the creation of BEST, organizational oversight was given to the Dean of Students Office.
